191604 - Acknowledging and Celebrating Aboriginal Australia - A starting point (Member) NESA Registered (5hrs)
Sydney Inner West Marrickville Cost: AUD $250 NQF: 1|4|5|6

As mainstream services, we often feel that we should be acknowledging and celebrating Aboriginal Australia in our service program. But where do we begin? And how do we enable others to understand the importance of this rich and diverse culture? This workshop is designed to provide educators with a clearer understanding of why they are wanting to introduce Aboriginal Australia into their services. We will also explore ideas about how and who to engage with when ready to embed Aboriginal perspectives into their service program

This is a great workshop for those wanting to create an understanding of the following:

  • Why is it important to celebrate and acknowledge Aboriginal Australia within mainstream services?
  • Where and how do I begin?
  • How do I know if I’m being culturally competent

Completing , Acknowledging and celebrating aboriginal Australia– a starting point contributes 5 hours of NESA Registered PD addressing 1.4.2 and 2.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
