Drawing from current research in relation to how children’s brains grow and develop, this session will support you to identify a child’s stress related behaviour and develop an understanding of how the brain and body work together to create behavioural responses. This research and science can apply a new ‘lens’ to how we view children’s behaviour and our responses as educators.
Completing Neuroscience and Behaviour will contribute 2 hours of PD addressing Standard 1 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. Professional Practice Standard 1: Know students and how they learn. This course may also contribute 2 hours of Elective PD to your maintenance of teacher accreditation requirements, in line with the current Elective PD Criteria https://www.educationstandards.nsw.edu.au/wps/portal/nesa/teacher-accreditation/professional-development/pd-requirements
