“But I had it first …”: The Role of Self-Regulation in ‘Controlling the Climate’ of the Early Childhood Context

Providing the support that children need to build self-regulatory skills at home and in early education programs is one of an educator’s most important responsibilities. Throughout this workshop participants will:

  • - Explore the different aspects of self-regulation
  • - Develop an understanding of the influence of regulatory abilities for later development
  • - Examine the role of the educator in teaching self-regulatory skills
  • - Examine specific activities that can be used in individual and group settings
  • - Reflect on their own practice and identify areas for further focus

Completing, Self Regulation / Behaviour contributes 1.5 hours of NESA Registered PD addressing 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
