When do children start to develop empathy and how does self-regulation play a part? How does the brain and developing emotional intelligence help you to cope with daily environmental demands and to problem solve in changing situations?
This session builds on your knowledge from Theory Basics of Behaviour, exploring a range of new research and frameworks that support children's behaviour and address our own behaviour as educators.
You will learn practical strategies that you can implement into your service, which will help you to better understand the triggers for certain behaviours and how to deal with them in children, within yourself, and within your colleagues.
Completing Research and Theory in Behaviour will contribute 2 hours of PD addressing Standard 1 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. Professional Practice Standard 1: Know students and how they learn. This course may also contribute 2 hours of Elective PD to your maintenance of teacher accreditation requirements, in line with the current Elective PD Criteria https://www.educationstandards.nsw.edu.au/wps/portal/nesa/teacher-accreditation/professional-development/pd-requirements
